I feel so lucky today... not only did Gary and I get to visit Louis' litter at Wilbon Newfoundlands this afternoon, but we actually got to hold the puppies. They are absolutely precious and it was so wonderful to know that one of the seven boys is our sweet Louis. I'm glad I was able to hold him at 10 days old. I hope that it made some kind of imprint on his brain, so he will know how much we loved him from the very beginning. We hope to visit the litter at least once a week until Louis is old enough to come home. That will give him a chance to get to know us at least a little bit and hopefully make the transition to his new home easier.
It's impossible to know which puppy will be Louis at this point, but light green was very cute. Of course, so was purple, dark green, light blue, dark blue, yellow and red :-) [pink, peach and orange girls were also cute, but I was mostly focused on the boys this time] Every puppy in the litter is thriving and at 10 days old they are already incredibly strong. It's going to be so hard to choose when the time comes. I told Bonnie and Bill that when it is our turn to choose we want which ever dog is the sweetest of the boys that remain, but we probably couldn't go wrong with any of them.
Yellow boy was the biggest of the group and is obviously quite a ham already.
