Growing Up and Firetrucks

On the way home from visiting a dear friend in the hospital Natalie declared that she wanted to eat Chinese food.  I suggested we call ahead and order some and then pick it up on our way home.  Her response, "Mama, I really want to eat IN the restaurant."  We've been out to eat so many times but in the past we have always been with friends or family.  This was the first time it was just the two of us.  She sat across from me in a booth and was such a little grown up.  We had a great time... she is excellent company.

After we ate we were walking to our car and saw two large firetrucks in the parking lot.  I noticed another mother with a small child talking to one of the firemen, so we walked over.  The firemen were so nice and offered to take pictures of us in their firetruck.  It was a great experience for both of us and was the perfect opportunity for me to talk about the role that firefighters play in our community.
